The International Visegrad Fund (IVF) is seeking proposals for projects within the Visegrad+ program. The Visegrad+ program was started with the aim to develop the cooperation between the Visegrad Group (V4) countries and Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine.
The International Visegrad Fund is an international organization based in Bratislava founded by the governments of the Visegrad Group (V4) countries – the Czech Republic, the Republic of Hungary, the Republic of Poland, and the Slovak Republic.
Proposals are being invited in the following areas:
Role of the media in free elections
Aim of the project: based on the analysis of the situation of independent media to elaborate mechanisms helping to secure appropriate role of media in election process. The following steps are to be taken:
- to create an expert group for the media in the respective country
- who is who in the media business
- the situation of independent media in the respective country
- recommendations of how to improve the relationship between the government and independent media and how to secure independence of the media
- the establishment of an expert group from V4 and the respective country consisting of representatives of local parties and media, aiming at monitoring the situation and elaborating recommendations for proper media appearance connected with the election process
- training of the journalists in proper ways of informing in accordance with the election rules and in an independent way
Transfer of know-how for small and mid-size businesses
Aim of the project: using V4 experience to elaborate recommendation for improvement of the situation of small and mid-size businesses. Using some current contacts between V4 countries and Ukraine, Moldova, and Georgia to broaden contacts among professional organizations and experts focused on the topic.
Analysis of the situation and establishment of a think-tank network
Aim of the project: to share V4 experience in establishing and strengthening think-tank networks.
Enhancement of the necessary technical and organizational background for document security (IDs, passports and other forms of proof of identity)
Basic Conditions
- Active involvement of partners in all V4 countries
- Project partners in GE, MD and UA advantageous
- Applicants can send separate proposals for more than one call; each proposal will get reviewed separately
- When submitting the proposals applicants can simultaneously be implementing other grant projects supported by the IVF or can, if their proposal gets selected, apply for other grants
Last date for submitting the proposals is September 30, 2011.
