The Asia Foundation is focused upon providing support to NGOs in the Asia-Pacific region. The Foundation is committed to the “development of a peaceful, prosperous, just, and open Asia-Pacific region. Its head office is located in San Francisco; however, it has also got offices in many of the Asian countries where it has been actively supporting programs for NGOs in areas of governance, law, civil society, women’s empowerment, economic reform and development and international relations.
The Foundation keeps issuing ‘calls for proposals” under various grant programs, but these calls are mostly carried out at the local country-level. However, the Foundation also accepts grant applications from NGOs throughout the year. NGOs need to get a clear understanding of the program priorities of the Foundation before applying for this. A brief letter of enquiry needs to be submitted to the appropirate country office and the Foundation would review and make decisions about the prouect. The letter of enquiry should include information about the organizaiton, the proposed project and the budget estimate.
