The Mica and Ahmet Ertegun Graduate Scholarship Programme in the Humanities are brought together with one another and with Oxford’s exceptional community of scholars in a exceptional setting which promote dialogue across academic disciplines, across cultures and across generations.
Ertegun Scholars build on this foundation at Oxford which leave the University prepared to be leaders not only leaders in their chosen fields but also leaders of global thought and opinion and leaders of positive action for the betterment of humanity.
Ertegun Scholars are offered with golden opportunity to attend one of the world’s eminent universities free of cost after being selected in a highly competitive review process carried out by a multi-disciplinary Ertegun Scholarships Selection Committee.
Ertegun Scholars pursue graduate-level study and research in diverse fields as literature, history, music, archaeology, Asian studies, art history, ancient, Middle Eastern studies, medieval and modern languages at Oxford. Ertegun Scholars have the exclusive use of The Mica and Ahmet Ertegun House for the Study of the Humanities, a building in the heart of Oxford devoted to study and research by Ertegun Scholars, and they are mentored by a full-time Ertegun Senior Scholar in Residence, an Oxford faculty member.
Ertegun Scholars also have access to a programme of lectures, seminars, concerts and other activities especially designed for them. The ability to use Ertegun House for study and research is an exceptional part of the experience of an Ertegun Scholar.
