UN Women’s Pacific Regional EVAW Facility Fund has issued a call for proposals to provide grants and capacity development to support civil society organizations and Pacific Island governments to prevent and respond to violence against women and girls (VAWG) using a human rights and gender-responsive approach.
Invitation is extended to civil society organisations and governments (national and local) from 8 Pacific countries (Fiji, Kiribati, Nauru, PNG, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tonga and Vanuatu) to apply for grants between USD 10,000 to 100,000 for projects of 1-3 years in duration.
The focus areas of the 2012 Call for Grant Applications are:
- Priority Area 1- Increase access of women survivors to quality services especially in rural and remote areas
- Priority Area 2- Advancing primary prevention initiatives
- Priority Area3- Influencing government policy and legislation to explicitly address primary prevention, services, budgets and coordination of responses
