GeT Ma program conducted by top universities offers scholarships

The GeT Ma program is conducted by two top universities including the Institute of Social Sciences of Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin and the Graduate School of Social Sciences of the Middle East Technical University (METU) in Ankara.

Students spend the first year of study at METU before coming to Berlin to finalize their studies. Graduates receive a Dual-Master of Arts in Social Sciences from both universities. Due to the international profile of GeT MA the language of instruction for courses is English. However, students take additional language classes in Turkish or German or a third language throughout the academic year in Ankara and may choose additional language courses in Berlin.

The program enables students to enrich their academic experience by offering them with the opportunity to undertake a 3-month internship during the summer break before the second year. Thereby, students gain valuable insight into the professional life in Germany, Turkey or abroad. GeT MA is a fee based program. Tuition fees for the two-year academic program amount to €2.500 per semester and need to be payed at METU. Students have to cover costs of living. The collected fees are entirely used to cover the costs for the GeT MA program.

GeT MA offers four full scholarships (tuition fees + monthly stipends) and a certain number of tuition fee reductions to qualified students of the program. Applicants interested in these scholarships should state their requirement in their statement of purpose. The distribution of scholarships will be decided during the admissions process. Kohl’s Scholarship Program Nominations begins February 1

Credit Beth Serowsky Kohl’s Department Stores will accept nominations for excellent young volunteers for the 2012 Kohl’s Cares Scholarship Program. Nominations for kids ages six to 18 will be accepted between February 1 and March 15 at kohlskids.com and nominators must be 21 years or older.

Through the program, Kohl’s will award more than 2,200 young volunteers more than $440,000 in scholarships and prizes honoring kids who have made a positive impact on their communities. Two nominees from each of the more than 1,100 Kohl’s stores throughout the nation will win award $50 Kohl’s gift card.

More than 200 of the store winners will win regional scholarships worth $1,000 toward post-secondary education. Ten national winners will be awarded a total of $10,000 in scholarships for post-secondary education and Kohl’s will donate $1,000 to a non-profit organization on each national winner’s behalf.

The Kohl’s Cares Scholarship Program is part of Kohl’s Cares, Kohl’s philanthropic program aims at improving the lives of children. Since the program incorporated in 2001, Kohl’s has recognized more than 15,000 kids with more than $3 million in scholarships and prizes.

Research Grant Program for Romanian Scholars at the USA

Research Grant Program for Romanian Scholars in the field of history, political science, international relations, public policy, government and law, 2012 USA. These scholarships will be offered by The Romanian Cultural Institute. These scholarships can be taken at the USA.

The competition is open to Romanian citizens residing in Romania. The fields of study targeted are as follows history, political science, international relations, public policy, government and law. Candidates must be currently pursuing research in significant issues related to Romania’s present and recent past. Applicants should hold the terminal degree in their field (Ph.D. or J.D.) or be in the final stages of their degree (dissertation phase for those without a Ph.D.). Preference will be given to applicants who have published scholarly books or substantial articles in academic journals. Applicants must be fluent in both written and spoken English. Applications should be submitted in English.

The Romanian Cultural Institute and the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars are invited to announce the 2013 Short-Term Research Grant Program for Romanian Scholars. Successful applicants will have the opportunity to spend four months in residence at the Woodrow Wilson Center, where they will carry out advanced research and writing at one of the most prestigious nonpartisan institutes for advanced study in the United States.
