e8 Sustainable Energy Development Scholarships

The purpose of the e8 scholarship is to support outstanding students pursuing advanced studies in sustainable energy development and to encourage meaningful contributions to the collective body of knowledge about this subject.

The Scholarships are made available to outstanding students from developing countries and economies in transition, for a period of up to two years at the Masters and Post-Doctoral levels.

The e8 considers an outstanding student to be one:

·         Who graduates with excellent grades in the top 20% of her/his class

·         Who is determined to advance her/his knowledge and understanding

·         Who has a history of community involvement

·         Who is committed to sustainable energy

·         Who is committed to return and contribute to her/his home country.

Scholarship Application Eligibility Criteria:

To be eligible to apply for this scholarship, students must;

·         Plan to undertake studies at the Masters level or Post-Doctoral level in areas directly related to sustainable energy development

·         Be citizens of the developing countries and territories identified for OECD official development aid in the DAC List of ODA Recipients effective as of 2006

Funding

Scholarships of US$ 23,000 per year for up to two years are offered for Masters level students.

Scholarships of US$ 30,000 per year for up to two years are offered for Post-Doctoral students.

Up to two Post-Doc and ten Masters scholarships will be awarded annually.

Requirements

All applicants must provide:

·         Proof of citizenship. Refer to the country eligibility requirements.

·         Letter of acceptance from an approved academic institution to undertake studies in sustainable energy development

·         Copies of transcripts for degrees and final grades

·         Curriculum Vitae

·         Application Form fully completed

·         Two letters of reference, one academic and one personal.

·         You are responsible for contacting the references

Erasmus Mundus MSc in Photonics Scholarship

The Erasmus Mundus MSc in Photonics scholarship consist of twenty monthly instalments of 1600 euro and a yearly fee of 5000 euro to cover expenses, like subscription fees, insurances and travel.
The Erasmus Mundus MSc programme in Photonics is a 2-year (120 ECTS credits) program, with the students spending one year in one European country and the other year in another country.

The qualification obtained is a double degree awarded by the two countries in which the student has studied.

In Belgium, Ghent University and the Free University of Brussels jointly award the degree of Erasmus Mundus Master of Science in Photonics.

In the U.K., the University of St. Andrews and Heriot-Watt University will also award the degree of Erasmus Mundus Master of Science in Photonics.

In Sweden, the Royal Institute of Technology of Stockholm will award the Degree of Master of Science with a major in Electrical Engineering, specialisation in Photonics.

The Erasmus Mundus MSc in Photonics offers admission to applicants who appear to have the highest potential for graduate study. The minimum graduate admission requirements are:

·         A bachelor's degree or recognized equivalent from an accredited institution.

·         Sufficient English language ability.

Erasmus Mundus MA Audiovisual Translation Scholarships

The Erasmus Mundus MA Audiovisual Translation Scholarships are awarded for study in London, Barcelona, Antwerp and Leiria.
Programme length: 2 years

Number of places: 30

Entry Requirements:

Applicants need a good 1st degree recognised by the Masters consortium in a related field such as languages and translation.

English Language Qualifications:

International students will need an English Language qualification of either IELTS 6.5 (6.0 minimum in all sections) or TOEFL 575 (232 computer based).

Selection Process:

The call for applications will be made in July of every year and open for 6 months (closing date January of the following year). This allows students ample time to obtain their necessary English Language qualification.

Applications are checked on arrival to ensure that the candidates meet the entry criteria.

Those applications that meet the criteria are carried forward and independently checked by 3 Roehampton staff and given a score on their basic information.

Relevant first degree, degree classification (additional points are given for relevant first degree in Translation or related field), degree of classification, English Language score and work experience.

The additional weighting comes from the personal statement in which marks are given for academic experience, motivation, work experience, professional qualifications, evident aims/outcomes from studying on the programme, reasons for applying and academic interest.

Scholarship Information:

The EU Commission will grant scholarship to highly qualified third-country graduate students and scholars—to students to follow a selected Erasmus Mundus Masters Course, to scholars to carry out teaching and research assignments and scholarly work in the institutions participating in the Course.

Students and scholars must apply to Roehampton University.

The MA SEN consortia will apply to the Commission for Scholarship funds. Scholarships are paid through the MA SEN consortia.

Graduate students would receive a grant of EURO 42,000 for 24 months study. Scholar students would receive a grant of EURO 13,000 for 3 months study.

M.A. Economics of International Trade and European Integration Scholarship

Only so-called '3rd country' students and scholars are eligible for an Erasmus Mundus M.A. Economics of International Trade and European Integration Scholarship.
Third country students/scholars are defined as students/scholars from all countries in the world, except the EU Member States.

About 12 places are reserved for third-country students and 4 places for third-country scholars who are granted Erasmus Mundus M.A. Economics of International Trade and European Integration Scholarships.

Studies take place at University of Antwerp Staffordshire University(SU) in the U.K or at the Université des Sciences et Technologies de Lille (USTL) in France.

In term II students study for three months at the Universiteit Antwerpen (UA) (Belgium) and in term III for three months at Prague University of Economics (VÅ E) (Czech Republic).

For each student the scholarship amounts to 21,000 Euro per academic year. This includes 10 monthly grants of 1,600 Euro and a fixed amount of 5,000 Euro for fees, travel expenses, relocation costs, etc.
