IRENA Scholarship Programme

The International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) concluded the selection process and we are pleased to accept our first 20 Students to the IRENA Scholarship Programme at Masdar Institute for Science and Technology, Abu Dhabi.The students will conduct their research in renewable energy related fields, benefit from an exclusive Lecture Programme focussing on renewable energy policies, technologies and trends, and receive support from IRENA that is complementary to the knowledge facilitated at Masdar Institute.

Eligibility-     
  • Relevant undergraduate degree from a college, university or technical college of acceptable standing in the field of science, engineering or information technology
  • Minimum CGPA required: 3.0 on a scale of 4.0.
  • Competence in spoken and written English. Minimum TOEFL score: 91 (IBT) on the international TOEFL. Minimum academic IELTS score: 6.5.
  • Minimum GRE quantitative score: 700(or 155 on the new scale) .
  • Academic record and credentials must indicate the ability to achieve distinction.

Heinrich Böll Foundation’s International Petra Kelly Prize: Human Rights, Ecology & Non-Violence


Heinrich Böll Foundation is seeking recommendations from the general public on nominees to become Petra Kelly Prize 2012. The Prize recognizes people and civil society organizations for their outstanding achievements in respecting human rights, fostering non-violent conflict resolution, and protecting the environment with this prize. The award is endowed with € 10,000.

With this award, the Heinrich-Böll-Foundation also remembers the life and achievements of Petra Kelly, cofounder and speaker of the German green party, and an outstanding person in the international ecological and pacifist movement.

The Heinrich-Böll-Foundation views the awarding of the Petra Kelly Prize as a political statement. The publicity, financial support, and political recognition related to the award should help to foster the advancement of the awarded person’s or group’s concern.

Candidates for the international Petra Kelly Award of the Heinrich-BöllFoundation should stand out through exceptional activities in one or more of the following areas:
  • Implementation and / or defence of universal human rights
  • Development of non-violent conflict management solutions
  • Environmental protection
  • Commitment to social justice
  • Promotion of intercultural communication and mutual respect among cultures
  • Strengthening of the international Green movement
Initiatives to be nominated should be as clever and innovative as possible with regard to the theme or form, i.e. it should be novel and thus distinguish itself from comparable initiatives. The political claim of the candidates should transcend national boundaries and thus have topical strategic relevance.

Erasmus Mundus Master Degree - Mundusfor

MUNDUSFOR offers a master degree in higher education to professionals that wish to orient their careers toward the field of education.

This master degree is open to candidates that have an undergraduate degree in the field of education (Pedagogy, Psychology, Teaching, Social Studies, and others) as well as to professionals that have followed a higher education program in other disciplines (Law, Economics, Medicine, Engineering…), but wish to pursue a master degree oriented toward education.

The master MUNDUSFOR will provide the students with the tools, abilities and skills necessary to exercise the teaching profession within educational institutions, work within companies and also in public and private institutions.

Grant amount: € 21,000 per academic year (€ 42,000 for the 2 years).

Eligibility:

·         Be a citizen of a third-country .

·         Should not residing in any UE Member State or participating country.

·         Be between the ages of 25 and 45.

The Master Degree MUNDUSFOR will recruit students according to the following criteria:

·         Have a degree in higher education, corresponding to a bachelor’s degree or equivalent

·         Be proficient in the language of the selected university plus one more language in the consortium

·         Submit a complete set of the required documents within the deadline

The Hodgson Law Scholarships, LLM Scholarships, University of Liverpool UK

Hodgson Law Scholarships have been initiated after the death of Elizabeth Hodgson pursuant to the Hodgson Will Trust.

The Hodgson Trustees have resolved to set up a scheme of Hodgson Law Scholars to be selected through a Selection Committee.

The Committee will choose 1 Hodgson Law Scholar each year from LLM applicants.

All University tuition fees will be paid on the Hodgson Law Scholars’ behalf by the Hodgson Trustees.

In addition, each Hodgson Law Scholar will receive a maintenance al lowance of £5,000 as a contribution towards their living expenses in the United Kingdom.

Applicants must have completed or be in the final year of completion of a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent degree at a minimum 2.1 (UK Upper Second) or equivalent standard.

The scholarships are awarded on a competitive basis to the strongest candidates.
