Support for International NGOs from the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Government of Finland has announced that it is renewing its cooperation with international NGOs for which it has published new funding guidelines called the INGO guidelines 2012.

With the help of the new guidelines a new funding cycle is created synchronizing the processing of new funding proposals for INGOs within the Ministry.
Ideally three-year funding decisions promoting systematic and long-term development are to be made.

In addition, the guidelines clarify the division of responsibilities within the Ministry in relation to INGOs and enhance procedural principles.
The Ministry for Foreign Affairs allocates development cooperation funds to international and regional non-governmental organizations (INGOs) whose activities are in line with Finland’s development policy priorities and goals.
