Fonds voor Wetenschappelijk Onderzoek (FWO) is inviting applications from permanently employed professionals with master’s degree for one year long ‘Special PhD Fellowship’ program 2014. The major aim of the fellowship program is to enable persons not employed within scientific research to complete a PhD within one year.
The scholarship amount will be identical to the last net salary of the main activity.
Eligibility Criteria –
Applicants must be a Belgian nationality or belong to one of the member states of the EU, the EEA or Switzerland.
Applicants must hold a Master’s degree.
Applicants must be permanently employed and must not be professionally involved in scientific research.
Applicant’s employer must be willing to give her/him temporary leave or unpaid leave for 1 year in a condition to return to the same job after the leave ends.
Applicants must relinquish any secondary activity and associated remuneration.
Applicants must not have previously received an FWO fellowship (not even in part).
Clinicians are not eligible to apply.
