The South Asian Network for Development and Environmental Economics invites research concept notes on “Understanding the Social and Economic Impacts of Environmental Policies”

The South Asian Network for Development and Environmental Economics (SANDEE) is a regional network launched in 1999 and dedicated towards finding solutions for South Asia’s environmental challenges. It makes use of economic tools and analyses to address these challenges. The network also works to connect researchers and institutes in South Asia, working for development and poverty eradication in South Asia.

The main goal of SANDEE is to build the professional skills required to enable South Asians to address local and global environmental concerns. SANDEE works in seven countries in South Asia – Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. It is hosted by the International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD), Kathmandu, Nepal. SANDEE was previously based at IUCN-the World Conservation Union, Nepal.

The SANDEE is currently inviting research concept notes from interested individuals on the topic of “Understanding the Social and Economic Impacts of Environmental Policies”

Submission Guidelines

Please refer to the research pre-proposal submission Guidelines for filling up the pre-proposal form. Only those pre-proposals that are submitted online according to the guidelines will be considered for the research competition.

If you are an individual member of SANDEE, you can submit the pre-proposal by clicking the appropriate link. It is mandatory to log-in with your user name and password before submitting the form online.

If you are not registered as an individual member in SANDEE, please visit the membership page to register as an individual member before submitting the pre-proposal.

The total length of your pre-proposal should not exceed 1500 words. Pre-proposals with more than 1500 words will not be accepted. Please note, this words limit is applicable to items G – O only, and each of these sections has its own limit.

Last date for submitting the research concept notes is August 31, 2011.
